Stripped UTG mount allen bolt.

Someone asks for help with a bolt, and some people feel it's right to say that the product is junk. If you can't help, shut up. If the OP the seller or paid too much is not important. Someone asking fellow gun nutz for help is.

If you don't like a product someone purchased keep it to yourself, or at least warn them politely about possible issues. CGN is way too full of people bashing others purchases. I know guys that are scred to make posts about purchases because of all the people waiting to pounce on them. I know guiys that have left CGN for that reason. They found it full of snobs and know-it-alls.

Sure some products are made better than others, but we don't all share the same budget. I wish folks would play nice.

X2 for me

let's face it a lot of UTG stuff is junk.
BUT the utg trirail handguard is proving to be an alright piece of kit.
upgrading the side screw is probably a good idea if stripping screws in general is a habit for you hehehe some of us just underestimate our strength turning screws sometimes LOL. Also, some guys have upgraded the allen key screws for the clamps and rails, a cheap thing to do. I haven't had any issues, my clients for the most part haven't had any issues, and we would be hearing about the failures..... this is the internet. when a product does not work..... we generally hear about it pretty fast from reliable sources. Who you personally choose as a reliable source for a review on the utg trirail m14 handguard is entirely up to you..... after all, this is the internet ;)

Keep me in mind when you order them, and I'll buy one off you! If you're willing. I'm in no hurry to mount this, so no rush.

If an individual is concerned about what others think of their purchase they need to grow some thicker skin. Although the bashing seems harsh on the surface, it is for the benefit of the parties involved. By dispensing ones experience with inferior products through harsh tones, it is similar to scolding your dog for peeing in the house. Preventing or atleast attempting to prevent the inevitable disappointment so often encountered with these products is the sole purpose for the posts. After all, no one complains about the current top of the line gear... You get what you pay for.

On a side note Easy is correct with regards to who has such an accessory mounted. Without the need for tools why would someone send it off to be mounted? I suspect it has to do with the "instant gratification" society. Folks want a "tacticool" gun now and don't want to spend the time researching it or building it.

ETA: Oh yeah one more thing, the thread title is "stipped" not "stripped".

what in heavens name are you talking about........

:feedTroll:

if your sole purpose for joining this thread today was to chastise someone........ take a break from the internet...... I bumped this week or so old thread to let the guys know the arms 18 bolts came in....... several of those will be replacing stripped ARMS 18 side bolt mounts ........

It's one bolt that someone used too much torque when tightening. It's not the whole rail itself, for like the 5th time! I'm not complaining about the rail as I haven't mounted let alone shot with the rail installed.

I'm a very easy going guy, but when somebody twists my words or misinterprets my intentions one is bound to get defensive.

I was complaining about the dude who got a little too excited and cranked too hard on the allen wrench. Has nothing to do with the quality of the product.

The issue has been resolved thanks to the M14Doctor. :)
