My scope mount is inbound for my Norc m14 but im having a hard to removing the stripper clip guide because the pin wont come out.

I tried using a 3/32 diameter punch to tap the spring pin out from inside the receiver but it will NOT come out. I dont want to hit it to hard either because i don`t want to damage the receiver.

Am i doing something wrong?

any advice would be very helpful

i came from the top in- after taking the bolt out- just enough to vice grips a grip and PULLED it out- you have to be sure and get the right punch as too small will spread the pin, making it worse- i don't know what diameter it is, as i used a finishing nail with the tip ground off

Promag Instructions:

STEP #2

USING A 3/32" PIN PUNCH, DRIFT OUT THE ROLL PIN THAT HOLDS THE STRIPPER CLIP GUIDE IN PLACE. THE PIN IS DRIVEN FROM THE TOP (THE GUIDE) INTO THE RIFLE. THE PIN WILL FALL OUT. SAVE THE ROLL PIN.

I used the butt end of a broken drill bit. Never throw anything out!
