Anyone got any tips aside from the usual "put down your purse and hit it" for removing the stripper clip guide on a m305?

I got the pin out no problem, and have been attempting to drive the guide out the left side as per the Sadlak instructions. I've soaked it in penetrating oil for 2 days. Still no go.

I want to get this thing out without cracking anything.

That's all there is to it. Get a big hammer and a punch and hit it.

I helped a buddy remove his this afternoon and it was by far the tightest guide I've ever had to remove. I was very surprised at the amount of force required. I had to switch to a steel punch because the big brass one I was using was mushrooming too much.

Pound away. Don't hit your thumb. Ask me how I know. ;)

Yeah I figured out that the brass punch I was using was too soft. I've tried a steel punch to no avail. I guess I'll just pound harder. I thought these were supposed to be easier to remove than this.

Have you tried soaking it in a penetrating oil and letting it sit for a while? It could help free it up.

If your doing it laying on the bench please remember to support the receiver so nothing moves much when you use your BFH. You lose a lot of energy when things are loose and unsupported.

Ok. After 6 days of soaking with penetrating oil, and repeated attempts at smacking it with a bfh, it finally came out. Right to left. Just like drifter dave suggested.

These things are a b*tch to get off. But it was worth it.
