Hopefully I have the right forum. These two items, which I'm assuming are stripper clips, I found in a box of this & that. Any idea what they might fit? Or are they just a generic round holder?

Those are FMJ .308 rounds.

Markings on the back are Cl DAQ - 66 and Cl DAQ 8-59

thanks,

98% they are stripper clips for the m14 / M305 (norinco) and others how many did you find? ( have to try to be shure)
your friends will gladly take them off you hands

rounds look like goverment ball ammo 147g fmj another clue (markings will tell you more

Head stamp marks on the .308 case is:

308w (on the top)
O (on either side of the primer)
86 ( on the bottom)

ie: if you look at the head stamp it appears as

308W

O (primer) O

86

I have two clips & 10 rounds of FMJ

They are Canadian, for the FN C1A1 rifle, but are identical to those produced in the States and other countries, and will fit any 7.62mm NATO rifle that takes stripper clips, including the M-14/M-14S/M-305.

Stamped out in August of 1959... you got yourself an antique there bro. Most of the ones I have are from the 60's.

The clips will accept most (any I think) .30 caliber shells. I have the same ones, and use them for my .308, 30-06, etc. Work great for keeping the shells from jingling around in your pocket on the drive to your hunt. Good find.

Different: Cool site!

Thanks for the info guys! Some days you just never know what you'll find in old boxes. :)
