Stripper clips or mags?

Howdy all.So who out there has succumbed to the "I gotta have lots of 20 rd mags cause ya never now when the Zombies will be here".

I was thinking it sure would be a lot easier since we are restricted to only 5 rds at a time to just pack your ammo on stripper clips.I know if you have a scope this way will not work. Lot less weight to pack,less bulk,you loose or damage a stripper clip,big deal.No mag pouch or bag to worry about,no big mag hanging off the rifle to scare the non Zombies(like I care about that one).

So what do you all think?

Mags are considerable neater to carry, because unlike stripper clips, it's really har for rounds to fall out. And by the way... Zombies? I knew it was coming....

it also depends on the type of stripper clips- i have both metal(american/phillipine made)and cf in 223- those stupid little tin can tabs break off on the metal ones- the cf ones are much sturdier and made of plastic- however, they're still not superior to the old fn stripper clip- which was metalm but maintained a spring tension against thehead of the cartridge

I don't see what the issue here is. Best off having lots of both.. FYI, the old CF 7.62 clips work just fine.

I've gone with the stipper clips, just easier to carry, and faster (for me) to reload.

I've done a whole Service Condition Match only using stripper clips on my M14 and boy was it fast. Mags are faster though. Use both and use the strippers for emergency reload.

one other point to consider- is there a stripper clip guide ON THE RIFLE?- if there isn't , you have to take the mag out, find the little gizmo, attach it to the mag, and feed the charger clip( proper terminolgy) into the charger clip guide( gizmo) and then push down- all of that makes having SPARE MAGS A CLEAR WINNER
