Restructured barrel concept. commercially available since 2018.
I'll be keeping a very close eye on this and see if this gains traction.
the concept is very intriguing.

TacomHQ has certainly come out with some cool and innovative gear.

Wish they didn't use Rex, he's an idiot trying to cash in on the precision rifle craze as a youtube personality.

A vet that did precision rifle for a living and has been on youtube long before the current rifle craze.... Surrounded by people with some of the best credentials... Your out of league dude

To the best of my knowledge (and limited googling) Rex isn't a vet. Regardless, he pretty much just regurgitates old field manuals, nothing ground breaking there.

In regards to the barrels, looks like an interesting concept but at a starting cost of $700usd + barrel and chambering I don't anticipate trying one any time soon, haha.

He's a running joke in the precision rifle community down south. The newbies like him, but that's because they don't know any better.

As rugbydave says, he's basically reading out of really old sniper training manuals. There's been a LOT of advancements in precision rifle in the past decade. Let alone the past 3+ decades where he is currently stuck.

People who pay $600/day for his training "courses"/seminars are being ripped off.

His earlier vids were taken right out of Col Plasters book on sniping. If you didn't read the book, you probably would not have noticed the plagiarism.

Bottom line is the guy does not have an original thought.

He's a parrot that just repeats what he hears.

But he does hang with some well funded shooters and seems to be around some cool and expensive gear.

He seems to have quite a fan base though...

Among the blind, a one eyed man is king.

I would like to see almost anyone here challenge Rex to nail a target at 1500 or 2000 and see who hits 1st. He's probobly going to win. And I have heard him debunk old field manuals alot more than repeat them. No reason to hate on the guy at all. He is good for the community and helps get people involved.

You organize it and pay my associated costs and I'll be there. I'll even let you pick which cartridge of mine I shoot: 6BRA, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 or .300NM. Short of that, I won't waste my time.

At least some here are getting something out of him  I personally would never recommend his videos to anyone. You have to listen to 45+ minutes of outdated/retarded information to glean ~1 minute of actual good info. Not a good rate on return IMO.

Plenty of better YouTube videos out there for precision rifle. Such as Jacob Bynum's of Rifles Only, or Frank Galli from Snipers Hide.

Yeah he's not perfect and not for everyone. I've watched all those guys. In the end he does more good than harm.

He would sure kick my ass lol. My part of Canada you're lucky to see farther than 300 yards for all the trees. 1000 is rare.

You have it made in Arizona for that! What brings you to a Canadian forum just out of curiosity?

Because I'm Canadian, and I like to keep my finger on the pulse of the Canadian precision rifle community.

As long as he's bringing new people to the community, then I guess it's a net positive. Myself and many others disagree with a lot of his stuff, and what he charges for his classes/seminars are a complete ripoff.

I'm pretty lucky with the shooting opportunities I have down here for sure!

The gun world is brutal for differing opinions lol. Ask how to clean a barrel or break one in. Even from people with decades of experience. You will get 20 opinions from 20 people.

The barrels seem like great idea but there are probably very few shooters that could justify the added cost for benefit, if they take off the cost will hopefully come down, I like the Rex videos myself.

You dont need groupies but your self esteem is so low you feel the need to talk out your rear end to put someone down that has the resume to speak with authority about a product. A product that the manufacturer CHOSE to use his endorsement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_v8b2H2_TE - Your just another internet hater keyboard warrior that wouldn't repeat a word of what you said to his face. LOL
