Hi there, I've been competing in 3gun, ipsc, steel challenge for over 12 years now pretty seriously and active. I've ran many shotguns and have predominantly shot open division because it's awesome and fun to use all the bells and whistles that you want. I currently run a FD12 due to the Typhoon being banned buy our terrible overlords, and along as you thoroughly break in the mag fed semis and don't be nice to them while doing so they will run a lot more reliably for you in return, keep them clean and smooth out any rough edges throughout the gass system and BCG. Run the gas block in the light load setting and the lightest rounds that I've found them to like are at a minimum of 1050 FPS or preferably 1100 fps, mine currently has a huge compensator on it and I've switched out the AR style grip to the fastest most vertical magpul one that I could find that makes any of the mag fed shotguns way more comfortable in my opinion then I run a old school Eotech sight that has been bullet proof for over 10 years on shotguns the entire time and has never lost zero or had any issues no matter the abuse or weather conditions. And yes I've seen some issues in competitions and had them myself but they can be fixed with some modifications and it's usually the shooter not cleaning them properly or at all or the ammo selection that is the causation.
