Stubborn screw

I figure if you can't wrap your head around a rail screw with a slot head, on the description, you probably won't really be much further ahead with a dozen well lit and clear pictures.
I have many years of tig welding under my belt(30+years) and If i saw a picture it would be easy to give an opinion and fix it for free as he isn't far from me but with a poor comment from you that offer isn't on the table any more thanks for your opinions.

I'll also say the pencil tipped soldering iron applied to the stubborn bolt is the best bet. I was trying to remove a screw from the forend wood of an over under shotgun i just got. One of the screws was extremely tight... like, sheered the end off the torx bit i was using tight.... 30 seconds with the soldering iron and it popped free... i found the previous owner had epoxy bedded the forend and had loaded the threads with epoxy. If the soldering iron doesn't free it up, heat it again and apply some paraffin or bees wax to the threads.

where did all this talk of welding come in...… this isn't a broken bolt in an engine block boys.

Gravity sucks!
Use a small butane torch lighter to heat up the screw. Try a bit of penetrating oil, PBlaster is my go to oil. If that doesn't work try heat with the small torch on the screw hear, get it hot then use an inverted can of air duster to freeze the metal around it.
If it shears off, left hand drill bits can be a life saver.

Another good trick that has worked for me in the past for a stripped out Philips head or totally buggered flat head screw is to center punch a good hole into the head of the screw closer to the outer edge.
Get a good sharp smaller center punch and light hammer it into the same divot. Then get the punch as parallel as you can to the screw head and give it a good counter clockwise tap with a small drift hammer.
The hard shock of the impact will normally break the threads loose if they can come loose.
I've had it happen where that will also shear the head of the screw off lol #### happens.
If the threads are too seized to the metal, no amount of heat, oil and technique will stop the head from snapping off. Usually at that level of corrosion/neglect the head of the screw won't take the torque required to break the threads loose anyways.
PS I also dream of a single CGN thread that doesn't turn into a #### measuring, intranet, bro contest! You gots to have hope!
