I've got an IGA-Stoeger single shot break-action .410 shotgun with a 12" barrel.

It has an effective range of only 10 feet, but it is kind of neat, and is quite light and easy to carry.

Anybody else here have any legal, short barreled scatterguns?

:shotgun:

Your effective range will increase with .410 rifled slugs or some of the harder to get 3 ball Winchester buckshot. And if you are interested in stubby shotguns , just go down the page and open anything that says, DLASK 870, Grizzly, or Dominion Arms. This shotgun site is full of legal stubby guns.

10' gotta call bull on that one! They do have a full choke.

My neighbour, sold his because he couldn't kill a grouse with it!
I said "you realize they all pattern about 3' high! Did you try it on paper??"
"NO"
:slap:

X2 on that one.

I had the same gun for a while and it took me a couple boxes of shells to figure out where it was shooting. Once I did, I could break the occasional trap clay with it. I also shot a few grouse with it that hunting season - it was tough trying to remember to aim at the ground in front of them  - but they were taken at distances of around 15 to 20 yards.

I actually tested out it at that range, and no, it does not have a full choke. The pellets that I used (No. 6) were very diffuse at that range.

It is more of a curiosity than a practical gun.
