"Stubby" flash-hider? What have you used?

We also have a new flash hider available. No flash visible on a 16" barrel, same dimensions as an A2. They are in stock at Epps and One Shot. MilArm has a demo you can look at.

IMO barrel length matters.

The juice isn't worth the squeeze with muzzle brakes on SBR's. On anything under 14.5" I'd just stick with the A2.

Anything 14.5 or over I'd probably use the Dlask A6, It's a simply outstanding muzzle brake.

The Battle Comp is the same length as the A2 and a fantasic break

But a relatively poor flash suppressor. Try the ATRS LFE. Pretty much zero flash from a 7.5" and full compensation and made in Canada. I have them on 300 Blk and 5.56mm SBR's. I haven't found better for the size. There are comparison vids on YouTube that are quite interesting.

When it comes to flash suppression and besides the SPEX there is only one solution...

I'd argue that the AAC Blackout is just as good, potentially a stronger three prong design, can be timed so one prong is facing the 6 o'clock to reduce dust being kicked up when firing prone AND it's shorter.

In this fourm everyone and their dog is "breaking" their .223Win poodle shooters...

A few threads down in the precision fourm...you get laughed outta down for putting a break on anything less then a .308Win lol

Recoil mitigation becomes a lot more important when you are using "X" rounds per second as a metric for a lot of your shooting. I don't usually see that topic being discussed in the precision rifle forum...

I'm using an ATR LFE on my Tavor and also have a Smith Vortex not currently mounted on anything. Both do a good job of flash suppression, the LFE is also supposed to have some muzzle control properties though I haven't shot it enough yet to have an opinion. I haven't stacked them next to an A2 but figure the length is pretty similar on both.

The LFE is manufactured in Calgary, which I like.

AGW linear compensator. Get it from OneShotTactical. Works really well on SBR.

Not the best for flash hiding capabilities. This is pretty much the biggest fire ball you will get. See picture above.
Will make your rifle "more quiet" and really fun to shoot. No muzzle jump either.
