Wanted to fl size some 25-06 cases today, notices my hornady die had some crud in it so I took it apart and cleaned it out good.I had all my cases lubed up with imperial sizing wax, which I really like.First case in got real tight real fast and I pulled the damned rim off. I took the die out,put it upside down in the rockchucker, drilled a #7 bit into it,threaded it for a m-6 cap screw that I had handy, put some washers for spacers and threaded the screw in and I'll be damned if it didn't pull the stuck case out.Had a bit of a time screwing the decapping pin back into the football shaped expander which I didn't need to unscrew but it all worked out.

My only stuck case was a result of running a 22-250 round into the die, using the 300WM Shellholder, oops. I just used a pair of vice grips to wind the decapper all the way down, pushing it out. Stripped the top of the threads pretty good, but bubba's motto is "Vice grips," and it's not like you need the top of the threads ;)
Of course that only worked because I had adequate lube, just got stuck because the shellholder was just a shell pusher, didn't do a whole lot of holding, being at least one size too large.

The hornady decapper is a smooth rod,at least on these dies.It is held in place by a collet that tightens the rod at the top of the die.I did use vice grips to pull the case off the expander to get it out of the die,did not use the grips on the die however, just the ruined case.Quick fix,I know you can buy case pullers but this worked slick, should post some pics tomorrow for the do it yourselfer.Anybody with a drill, bit, and tap can do it fast.

i had a 308 stuck case once, used G96 and elbow grease. I hope it never happens again

I've jammed a few in my Lee FL size/decap die. Just take the collar nut off the expander/decapper pin and smack it down into the die, driving the case out.

one of the guy's at work tried this. he bent the crap out of his decapping sizing rod, and still did not get the case out. i drilled and tapped the case and had it out in 2-3 min. GET THE PROPER TOOLS TO DO THE JOB!
