stuck case in chamber

I have a sako 22 250 with a gaillard barrel I have shot it for a couple of years now and just recently I havent been able to open the bolt easily and sometimes requires quite a bit of effort
at first I thought it was something about my reloads but they are the same that I have always shot. So I bought some factory shells and the same thing happens cant open the bolt
any Ideas or help would be nice

Time to run some nitro powder solvent through that girl.
If it's clean as clean can be,look for burrs around or just inside the chamber face where sharp cases might of buggered it up from feeding

Mabey the barrel is coppered up,try giving it a good cleaning with CR-10.You get enough copper fouling in the barrel pressures will rise.Make sure you put some oil on the locking lugs.
 
I am betting you oiled her up good before you stored it and now there is a thin film of oil in the chamber. This will sometimes cause the case to really stick both when you chamber it and after you fire it, if the bolt is hard to open and also hard to extract the fired brass from the chamber do yourself a favor and tap the brass out with a rod down the barrel to prevent you from breaking your extractor on the stuck case. Clean the chamber and barrel real good and take it back to the range.
 
You should get it to a gunsmith and find out what is wrong... It is possible the locking lugs have set back in the locking lug recesses... the barrel should be pulled off and the action inspected.
 
There is a very good chance your problem is a dry bolt cam. Most people forget to put a very light film of lubricant on the cam each time they clean the rifle. You should do the same on the rear surface of the bolt's locking lugs. When the cam is dry it will eventually gall making the bolt lift VERY stiff. Try some lube and I"m betting your problem will go away.
 
what do the cases look like when you finaly get them out ?

can you see any scratches on them, bulges etc things that shouldent be there.

sounds like the chamber may need polishing, maybe you tossed a round in that had some dirt on the outside of the shell and it scratched your chamber. that can cause what your describing, the shell gets wedged in the scratches and wont budge without some hefty muscles.

I checked them the first time and every time it happened and they all look fine
does anyone know how to take the bolt apart to clean it up too its a sakoL579

I can't believe you have such a fine old action and don't know how to strip the bolt...:)

Turn the rear shroud/firing pin assembly about 1/2 of a turn away from the cam area of the bolt body... it just pops out...
