Just curious if there is any other tricks to getting a case out of a sizer die? My 358 die ate a case (maybe a little bit my fault:redface:) and the RCBS tool did not work. The tool i have is the drill and tap set, where you drill and tap the primer pocket, then remove it with an allan screw and the case pulls out. Well, i either had too big a bit or drilled a bit too sloppy, and the threads in the soft brass stripped, and i now have a de-commisioned 358 die, and a shortage of my bear loads 1.5 weeks before i head out for bear. HELP!!!!

Go to the hardware store and get the next size up tap from what you have now and find a bolt the right size with the same thread as the new tap. Then re-tap the hole and try with the new bolt.

I made my own stuck case remover with a bit/tap/socket and a bolt.

Take out the expander rod, drop a brass rod(brass 6" long 3/16" diameter) in the die and whack it with a plastic mallet.
Use more case lube when you get it out.

When I had one stuck
With the expander removed I applied tension tothe remover screw and tapped with a punch thru the center
I think I used a bigger tap size

on your die..there are two small nuts..bring both of themto very top of the small threaded bolt that you use for your decaping..
tighten both nuts tight togeather once at the top..
now put a small wrench on the top nut and slowly turn the bolt inwards towards the broken casing..
this should work like a charm;)..

ps......if you frig upyour decaping pin doing this..just phone rcbs for a new free one;)

I'm using Lee dies, so I can't speak for any of the other manufacturers.

Undo and remove the collar/nut from the top of the die that holds the expander shaft. Hammer on the end of the expander shaft until the case is removed. Use a grinder to cut open the case to get your expander back. Grind off any burrs from the end of your expander rod that you made while hammering. Then put the die back together.

I agree with remving the expander portion and hitting them out from the top. I got a case stuck in my 300wm die and decided to just pull really hard up on the press arm. broke my damn desk. lol.
