Newbie error,,got a .223 casing stuck in the RCBS full size die. Forgot to change Dillon shellplate and obviously didn't lube enough..How do I get the Biatch out? already tried pulling it out with vice grips and hammering it out from the top.

had the same problem with the same caliber with the same die the other day....best way to remove it if you don't have a "stuck case remover" is to drill the flash hole with a 13/64 drill bit then tap for a 1/4 NPT bolt....do all this with the die in your press upside down to hold it securly....then place a 5/8 socket over the top of the case and thread a bolt into the case where you tapped it with a washer so it rests on top of the case....tighten bolt down on the socket and it should pullt he case up and out....

kinna ahrd to udnerstand this is what everyone on here told me to do the other day and it worked like a charm;)....

In past I didn,t have " stuck case remover" or die,s .
So I drilled out flash hole to sidesof case and cut the brass down to the neck with a small wood chisel.
Wood chisels are made of softer steel than the sizeing die so it did not do any damage.
I checked , not a mark.
You will have resharpen chisel , the edge will break off.

Don,t try to reload winchester 270 brass .
The factory crimp makes them get stuck.
Fed and rem never a problem.

Sorry about the delay in replying..Couldn't get it out, tried pushing it out, pulling it out, stuck a screw through the flashole even tried frezzing the damn thing..So it's off to the local gunsmith who for a minimal amount ( much less than my patience) will rescue the die..

Thanks again for your replies and once again my apologies for the delays
