Stuck Choke tube

I had a rusted in Remchoke.. the flush seated factory ones.

soaked overnight in penetrating oil

I then used canned CO2 (chewing gum remover) and a propane torch. I put a tight fitting steel pipe in the mouth of the choke so I could heat it and not the barrel.. then heated it up. Then cooled barrel end with CO2. I repeated this a few times, then put in the choke wrench and used a dead blow mallet to knock it back and forth a little to loosen the rust. Then repeated again the heat and cold one more time follwed by some more tapping.

soaked another night in penetrating oil

removed slowly with lots of backing in and out

I cleaned the treads with steel wool, then a brass brush covered in oil in my cordless drill

Take the gun to the range. put some rounds through it. The heat will open up the threads. Make sure it is un loaded then try to take the chocke out watch your hands it will ba hot! Worked for me and mine was rusted in.

I would use the heat method. I have taken to putting cooper antiseize on all my choke threads for 20 years and never had a problem after that. You can get a small tune at CDN Tire. Should last a life time
