You're right. That washing machine logo looks like sh*t ....I'd get out the mini grinder if I was you.

I have a Smith and Wesson 1956 4 screw K-38 target masterpiece with a similar problem...... Glossy blue finish that looks really dated and old fashioned....... I'm thinking of getting it cerakoted FDE.
