Sturdy Shelving

Can anyone recommend a 5-6 ft high shelving unit that is sturdy (I.e. can take heavy loading)? I had one frm crappy that was suppose to be sturdy, but it buckled under the weight of my reloaded ammo and stuffs.

PS, I know the optimal would be to build my own, but that is not an option right now.
 
I have a lot of ammo stored on the origami shelves from Canadian tire. Very sturdy. Easy to transport. Be careful to not pinch a finger or other body part when setting them up. I think they're even on sale at the moment.

If you've managed to buckle the origami shelves then you are really putting a pile of weight on them.

Look at kitchen metal shelves. Again at CT or Home Depot, etc. They're typically beefier, I think, than the usual plastic storage crap available everywhere.
 
Depending on how heavy you need, there are industrial and store racking parts and systems. Look in the Yellow Pages for shelving or racking. You might not need a full warehouse, so you might be able to bargain for something oddball left in the warehouse or yard.
 
honestly nothing "regular" will be sturdy enough to hold alot of weight.

Canadian tire black resin shelves are quite strong if you take one of the quality models. For quite cheap. like 50-80$.
But it's not going to hold 350 pounds of lead.. I stack my lead on the floor.

You need to build one, or look at speciality shelves and pay alot.

All you need is 2x4s and 3/4 inch plywood... and a few beers. That's how I build mine.
 
you need racking, not shelving. Heavy duty rivet rack would be the lightest I would suggest.

Long span racking can hold 2000lbs per shelf, not that I would max it out

Cinder blocks and 2"X4" strong side. Used it to hold my 180 gallon fish tank that had almost 600 lbs of rock work plus 125 lbs of sand. The tank is 3/4" glass all round with a 7/8" bottom. It's a lot of weight when the water gets added. Gives a redneck satisfaction to the man cave and it's cheap and easily transported
