Has enyone seen one of these or have one?? I just looked at one and is it ever a cool little piece!! 9mm, 105mm barrel, very lite, triangle type sight on it
Really cool little piece...:D

Im gonna have to look it up on their sight:D

I handled one a week ago at P&D in Edmonton, the sights were pretty interesting, I think they would allow for some pretty fast sight pictures. The ergonomics were interesting, it would point high for me even though I am used to how a Glock points high.

I wouldnt mind trying to shoot one, but I think personally would put my cash elsewhere for something I want more.

Fondled one over at Target Sports.

Fits my hand nicely and the triangle sight is interesting. Nice and compact, pretty cool pistol and I wonder how it shoots.

I really really like the New M-A1's

I owned one of the older ones and didn't like the manual safety; it'd sometimes engage when firing (not good).

I see they've since removed it in their new design. That was my only complaint. Since it is now not an issue I will get a Steyr as well.

The only bad thing of course is parts are much harder to come by (Glock rule that area).

IMHO though I think the Steyr is built a little better than a Glock (and I'm a Glock fan).

:D

The M9 was pretty much rubbish, imx. Slavex reported similar problems to the problems I've encountered so I assume they are universal. One of the big problems was the loaded chamber indicator which caused malfunctions, I remember someone on here asking how to chop the tip off! So they've redesigned it into the M9-A1. Not sure if it's any better.

It's got the same triangular sights by the sounds of it, which sound cool but the tip of the front sight is hard to pick up and it caused me to shoot high, I remember watching a guy shooting one in a Florida IPSC match, the S40 compact model or whatever it was called and all his shots were going high.

pass....look at the new SW MP.

Ditto.........

Had a guy shoot one on a Black Badge course I helped on.

It was PAINFUL to watch!! OMFG!!

The pistol looks ok.......but function?? EEEE GAD!!

The old safety is JUST PLAIN STUPID not sure about the new one!

The sights? Well yes they are WEIRD.......but they are also not good for natural pointing.

Frankly one of the worse guns I have ever handled..

Any questions as to my opinion???

Edit......Checked their site..........the safety looks the same as the one I used. STUPID!!!!

So it's basically like this (I am comparing it to the Glock which I also love):

Advantages:
-High quality steel mags (holes actually line up ;))
-Steel mag release
-Rails are not imbedded into the frame / very robust design (it really is).
-Good looking/###y (IMO)

Disadvantages:
-Parts are much harder to get if you need them (Biggest problem IMO)
-Funky Sights which can't be replaced (they can, but see above)
-LCI which you'll either love or hate (I could have gone without it, but it was the lesser of two evils - the manual safety had to go)

This is the New Steyr

I guess one of my concerns about it was how light it is ... thought it might be a little much recoil, but the sales dude said grip design made the recoil issue minimal. Any thoughts about its recoil?

Similar to a Glock, but seriously, 9mm is nothing in these guns. 357sig on the other hand can get uncomfortable after a bit.
I would not even consider the weight as a concern - 115gr 9mm is like shooting a .22lr :) heheh

If you want to quickly dismiss any flinching, bring a 12 guage to the range with some slugs and blast through them before you do your pistol shooting... it really works :D
