Trying to order my SU-16 however the Frontier site is down so in the meantime
I was wondering what you think some necessary accessories would be, perhaps I could order at the same time.

Scope, mounts, 10 round mags etc suggestions would be helpfull

other than a .22 and two shotguns and a handfull of pistols this will be my first rifle I will be shooting on my property and at at range

Cheers

I just ordered mine, shipped today :) I ordered up a few lar mags. I want to see how it handles before I sink money on extras I might not end up wanting. lar mags are a must have I think.

frontier. I got my order in before they changed the website. if you phone them, they'll help you out. I had to talk to them a couple times for the order and it went swimmingly.

good luck in your search! I'm tagging this thread in case and one posts some must haves :)

i too bought mine from frontier, and it was at my door like 3 days later :)

having just bought one, if i were you i would definitely buy some lar mags and a quick detach scope mount system as you have to take the scope off to remove the bolt/piston assembly to clean and would only go with the ar stock adapter if you have the cash lying around, it isn't critical.

i found the factory stock fairly comfy, but flimsy if the 2 x 5 round mags weren't inserted, i just installed my ar kit today and find the cheek weld and eye alignment to be great for my scope.

btw, if you do get the ar stock kit, be careful that you don't mash the threads on the lower pin like i did today , mind you a #8-32 die fixed mine right up.

so far i am happy with the factory fore end, except when opening and closing it to clean, the little plastic tabs that hold the sides in place are kind of a pain to lock down afterwards, it takes some finger manipulation of the spring tab, but that's fairly minor.

I gotta hand it to frontier. it seems that out of the goodness of they're hearts, they doubled the amount of magazines shipped with my su-16! quick shipping, and a nice little bonus for me!

also, anyone know where we can get the other stock shown in the su-16 add on the frontier site?

get the pistol grip but avoid the stock. It's kind of bare bones. Nothing really wrong with it but if you shoot alot you will replace it eventually, might as well start looking now.

I actually ordered the stock and grip yesterday from wolverine should be to them by the end of feb beginning of march, I do like the tube stock that folds sidways but I'm good for now.

What I'm actually having a problem on is deciding on a scope. I will get quick release mounts I believe, and like mill dots and could spend up to 400.00.

I found these I like then found out they are not available in Canada

Right now Cabela dot ca has a sale on for Redfields. $40 of the MSRP plus the accu-range reticale is perfect for the 223 round. The glass is the same ones that Leupold uses and it's made in the usa. I love Nikons but there BDC reticale really takes an aquired taste. So if that one suites your needs I would say get this 1;

With QD mounts anything your hunting over 100 meters should give you time to slap on your optics. Just remeber to go slow & low. ;)
