For my first gun i was going to get a sks tacticooled or an vz (5 rounds is not fun, and i dont feal like buying 20 mags). But i think i've settled on this, its got some ar-like features and is very light.

1. Is the ar15 mod stuff available in canada?

2. Does the gun break easy and is it unreliable? It looks flimsy.

3.What is the best magazine that will give me the highest capacity i know of lar15 but isn't their another magazine, and are these super overpriced or what?

How do people even enjoy using their vz's with 5 round mags? thats crazy so you shoot what 15 bullets and you leave the range?

The norinco type 97 looks alright too, but their weird ergonomics and #### are turning me off and no rails. Plus im waiting for the M-TAR to become available in canada, which should happen atleast sooner then the u.s gets it as it did with the tavor.

I would prefer a XCR but their so expensive, it makes it even worse that 5 minutes over the boarder their like 1200 dollars cheaper for a new one.

If you have any better gun recomendations let me know, but i would not want to spend more then 1500.

I have a VZ and am waiting on my su16.

1. The ar mod is available, I currently have it sitting on my desk.
2. From what I have been told from owners, it's a fun little rifle. Not to be confused with a "battle rifle" it is polymer. but that's the point, a light weight .223 that takes any ar mag.
3. I may be wrong. But the highest capacity mag is the lar15, at 10 rounds.

How does anyone enjoy shooting a 5 round mag? You reload it, and BAM more rounds. Ranges don't have rules regarding how many rounds you can fire. I take my vz and 3 mags. I can be there until they close...

I have my benelli m4, my .308, awaiting my su16. But my VZ is hands down my favorite to fire!

I've got a CZ858 and I only take 1 mag to the range, I just keep feeding it with rounds on stripper clips!!!

I've been considering getting a SU16 and making it look like an AR (just to piss off certain anti's) but I also like my firearms to be reliable. The SU16 has somewhat of a sketchy rep for reliability.

I have an su22 and I love it for what it is. I would probably eventually pickup a 16 as I think it would make an excellent truck gun/back pack gun. Its definitely not in the same class as an AR or even the xcr but for what it is it is pretty cool. As far as the reliability I've heard that Keltec has resolved the issues with the uppers breaking. Also Keltec apparently offers a great warranty although I have never needed it.

3. I may be wrong. But the highest capacity mag is the lar15, at 10 rounds.

I think you can get a Beowulff 50 magazine that will legally hold 15 rounds of 223. I don't have one, but if I thought they were going to still be legal in five years
I might consider one or two or five. Not cheap tho and I don't know how well they actually work.

I've owned the SU-16. I have the little brother su-22 now. First off the factory mags are junk. Buy a few lar mags. 10 rounds happy happy.
Secondly, if you buy the SU-16, buy the AR pistol grip. It makes the gun abit heavier but way nicer to shoot. An added plus, the folding pin is easier to pop out and is retained in the stock unlike the factory one that can fall out. The trigger also is crispper and lighter than the factory stock.
If you don't like plastic guns, don't buy and don't b1tch. It's really a $350 over priced because a monopoly company called Vault. They really screw us Canadians over!
I'm sure if we could get them at US prices, there would be alot more keltec owners.

I have a su 16 and find the bipod a bit flimsy. Other wise no problems with the factory mags other than being a bit snug inserting and removing, an lar mag works nicely. The factory doesn't like you using steel cased ammo but i haven't had any problems, i figure if Steel Match is good enough for Hornady it should be good enough for Kel-Tec, no problems with Norinco ammo either, so far.

I have one, love it. Fun little gun. Haven't had any issues with it other than the odd FTF, but thats been due magazines and not the rifle(I have about 500-700 rounds through it). I also have the pistol grip conversion done to it.

But like most things in life you get what you pay for. Accuracy is good, stock sights are $#@&. If ARs were non restricted I would have bought one over the SU16.

That being said I plan on buying one of the NR ACRs that are suppose to be north of the border this year.

.50 Beowolf mags are great. 15 rounds of .223/5.56 and blast away. Problem is they are in very high demand for obvious reasons and no stock anywhere. EE is the best bet, but be prepared to pay in the $150 range. Also don't touch any that are not made by Alexander Arms. Others will be a legal nightmare.

There is a site sponsor that has .50 Beowulf magazines in stock.

Yeah if ars were unrestricted i'd be getting one too. Funny how AR15'S a good one costs 850 but an xcr is 2500... Tis sad.
Perhaps ill just wait for the ACR's to come on over, that is depending on if they cost more then 2500 or not.

Or maybe ill just go the cz + stripper clip rout, the ONLY thing turning me down from a cz is having to buy aftermarket furniture with rails and the 5 round mags. Oh and cz reliability, it looks unreliable as the whole action is opened up after every shot.

Is their any mags for 762 pistol?

Not quite, 850$ for an AR is the entry level, from brands that have spotty records. To get into a "good" AR it is about 1500$ and for a great one it is 2000$+

You can get a magwell adapter from Wolverine to get a vz to use lar10 7.62 mags. Also, don't worry about the fact that the whole action opens on every shot. Check youtube for the torture test one guy did. It included jamming a ham sandwich into the gun and it still fired. They're well designed and simple.

I like my SU-16. I have AR's, but this one I can take out anytime and anywhere because of it's NR classification. It can also be easily modified from the original.

I've put a couple of thousand rounds through it, surplus, handloads, steel case, Norinco, etc, with no problems.

All mods are non permanent so it still has it's warranty.

It's now, as pictured, just slightly heavier than original, but still less than an AR.

Yep.....the SU is a fun gun. Put a couple of LAR's together and you have 20rds of fun. Easy to mod. Pretty accurate also with the right optics.

Think ill probably end up going with the su-16 then for my first gun, as the cz in 223 magwell adapter seems not the best.

Also you have a mock suppressor on their? It can't be real i assume.

Also that is exactly why i wont get an A.R. too many restrictions, if i go camping or somthing itd be nice to have somthing i can legally take with me.

I'd go with the xcr if i had the cash though.

Hows the accuracy on it? I like challenging myself with long range shooting.

It's a barrel shroud and yeah restrictions are why I got it over an AR. I have it sighted to 100yds and the optics are specially designed for .223 for easy compensation for different distances. It's pretty decent.

how much money do you guys have into your su 16's? links for the mods? I want to purchase a semi auto in .223 but im on a budget. su-16 is in my price range but if im going to spend another 500-1000 to get it to look and perform the way I want to I might as well get an xcr maybe?
