SU16F Update from the Vault forums

"Until we have the US Department Of State export approval, and the re classification done by the CFR here in Canada their is no point in discussing the SU-16F future here in Canada quite yet.

We are very hopeful that we will get the approvals we need, but you never know when dealing with DOS. It took close to 8 months to get the approval for the RFB-C.

I will let everybody know on here first when I have any more information. We will know more by February for sure, maybe sooner. "

What exactly is the delay , its .223 commercial rifle , or are they marked 5.56. And what re classification theyre non restricted right ?

they are expected to be non-restricted, but from what it sounds like they have not been able to get a sample to the CFC because the states wouldnt let them export one. so basically the SU16's are all wrapped up in red tape at the moment.

Dude. Seriously. Red tape is utterly stupid. If it gets through in the end, what's the point of making everyone wait and jump through hoops? A whole lot of Governmental Job Justification going on. I see no reason what so ever that we shouldn't be able to buy a whole truck full of SU16's and drive them over into canada. DONE. End of story. But wait, red tape makes us safe, right?

Sure you can. You can buy a house as a Canadian in the US and live there. After 6 months you have to cross the border out of the country for a period. The issue is working. Without a permit you can't work so lots of people work under the table.

They arent in Canada yet. They may be under 1000 dollars if we are lucky says the the distributor (vault), look up some reviews state side. they have good reviews so far, and may be the next remotely affordable black rifle in Canada.

Oh by the way, they should be in country within a few months.
