A few years ago, I picked up a Windham when they were first flooding the market, and got it NIB for less than what the Norcs were going for at the time. One of the best decisions I've made, they aren't even in the same league as far as quality is concerned.
I mention that because that's basically the situation with the S&W guns right now. The price these are going for is completely detached from the quality of the gun, it's simply a matter of what amounts to them needing to clear a production overrun (they ramped up production expecting a Hilary win and the resulting gun buying panic - neither happened), so now they need to clear out the warehouses.
Like with the Windham when I bought it, with the S&W, you're getting a gun that's actually worth a lot more, and it's unlikely you'll be able to get them at anywhere near this price in the future.
