Sub $1500 30mm tube hunting scope

I'm going to be putting together a new rifle and I'm looking for a scope suggestion for it. I'd like to be under $1500 after taxes. It'll likely go onto my rebarrelled 300 RUM which I carry regularly elk hunting. It currently has a 4-16×44 vortex that is getting moved to a different platform. I am looking for better quality glass and durability but this thing will get packed long distances on my back in the Rockies so weight is a consideration . I've been looking at the nightforce shv 4-14×56 but it is pretty heavy at around 26 ounces. Also looking at the leupold vx-5hd 3-15×44 which only weighs 19 ounces. Any others I should look at in a comparable price range? I see the Bushnell elite 6500 makes a 2.5-16×44 that is a fraction of the price but I also know it's not in the same class. I don't see much from swarovski in a 30mm tube in this price range.
 
I Know the Nightforce SHV weighs more bit it’s a absolute awesome scope. Highly recommend it! I have a 5-20x56 on one of my mountain rigs. Talk to Omer at precision optics. He has the best prices on them. And a good guy to deal with.
 
The Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x50 scopes are pretty decent. (Japanese)
Sightron Stac 4-20 x 50 have 30mm tubes and are not bad either. (Philippines)
These are not the best in the world, but great scopes for the money. IMOHO
