Sub-2000; A quick field review

That's where I got mine! Seth's a good dude.

I'm surprised he has some left?! I'm thinking they're the beretta mag'ed ones.

Did you happen to notice if he had any accessories in-stock when you were there?

Nope - sorry I didnt - was to busy drooling over my RFB

Don't you love how they sent a genuine GLOCK magazine :) (10-rounder :p , but hey, it's the right magazine ! ) with the Sub-2000 ? :yingyang:

I'm trading my "correct" magazine in when I head out to Silverdale on Thursday for the ACTUAL correct magazine. Did you try the mag it came with, how many rnds could you squish in there?

Haven't tried to load it yet  , will get the UPLULA (sp?) out in short order ! :D

By the way :yingyang: , neither the 10-shot GLOCK magazine nor the KCI 10/17's "drop free"...;)...but they're both easy enough to extract.....

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

Just thought I'd mention that I reloaded some 9mm specifically for this thing. I wanted to try some heavy sub-sonic loads to see if this thing would cycle them.

I did 147gr JHP, 3.4gr titegroup, wsp primer, and 1.15" COL in once-fired brass.

I've only shot factory 115gr and 124gr S&B FMJ's with it up until now and what an improvement in accuracy with these home brew loads. I only shot out to about 20~ yards but the gun was very consistent and cycled the 50 I brought with me perfectly. I was able to consistently hit a pop can at that distance almost every time with the factory sights. I think this would be a great load to use out in the backcountry for protection as well as plinking. Hardly any recoil, some power at close range for protection, and a noticeably quieter bang.

I'm going to try a really hot load next and this time bring the chrony. I'm pissed I forgot to bring it with me today! Everyone's curious about the velocities I'm sure.

Mine came in yesterday, but sadly, on the day I had to leave for school.

I probably won't get a chance to try mine out until spring. Damn the luck.

SWEET DEAL on the chrony, I can't wait to hear to get some velocity info (i'm a ballistics junkie) will you be testing any factory loads?

Quality pays and vice-versa...

Well, you and NATESFITNESS convinced me: I just CANCELLED my order at Wolverines. So someone down the waiting list is going to get his faster.

I have a problem with paying 700$ for a gun that feels like 350$ (your own words) and with plastic sights that break off during first shooting session, regardless of how neat the thing is.

You do make a good point and I won't deny that fact; but is there anything else available like it to us Canucks?

No.

That's what justified it for me.

Just so I should clarify, I emailed Kel-Tec and they are sending me a few extra replacement blades. Also I said its in the same area of quality of any $700 polymer pistol I have handled and owned. The carbine is very robust, with the exception of the front sight blade which can be easily replaced.

Great little carbine has been for years in the US market, runs perfect. But a $700 firearm it is not, they sell for $ 290us for a reason and the quailty is about that price range not $700.

Other than the price the sub2000 is a solid carbine and a great fit for canada.

That's a very valuable and worthwhile observation....
