Sub $500, 9mm recommendations for 1st pistol?

SR9 is just about the best you can get sub $500. They are out of stock everywhere now but last year I pre-ordered mine @ Dante's for $447 (many others were gouging up to $600 for them due to popularity and short supply)

Got a chance to purchase a Norinco NP22 from a CGN member. And oh, what a great pistol!! If you are on a budget, this is the best P226 copy that money can buy. It is really a well built pistol with almost zero imperfection. And by far also the easiest pistol to disassemble.
NP22's are getting harder to find. Would buy another one once dealers get them IN STOCK. At least we know for a fact that this are Made in China, and who really know where the real SIGS are manufactured.

The Norino CZ75clone is an excellent solid steel pistol. I have several and they ar relaible and accurate.

I just looked at the GrandPower 100. It is a poly frame with the STI logo. Locks with a rotating bolt. Te trigger in both double and single is excellent. Owner told me it was very accurate. being sold off by dealer for only $500.

As already mentioned the Nork copies of Sig and CZ should be solid performers at bargain basement prices. Occassionally you might see well used glock17 for near 500, that would be your best bet. The German Walther P-38 is a fine 9mm pistol for plinking as well. There are several post war variants produced and alot sold in the 350-399 range like or almost new condition awhile back. As for pistol accuracy and your grouping's with a P-38 compared to a more modern tacticool pistol,..well .if you can't dance with it than you can't dance.
