I built a rifle with a .223 Wylde, IBI 20" HBAR barrel in this thread here......

I haven't scared up a second receiver set yet, so I pulled the barrel today and swapped on the same profile barrel, but in 6.5 Grendel. I mounted a 4-16 Covenant and grabbed a few mags and out the door.

The group sizes and factory ammo are as noted. There was no cleaning or cooling involved, the last 28 shots took under 5 minutes and it was quite toasty.

I'll be giving this thing a cleaning and trying out some handload recipes I've worked up for my two 6.5 Grendel bolt guns. (with necessary work up precautions)

I'm VERY happy with how both of these barrels are shooting. I'm a bolt gun guy and LOVE accuracy, these MDI/IBI combo's are putting a massive smile on my face.

nice accuracy! I have been getting good results too in my SLR (Odin barrel)

I am shooting the Berger 100gr over Alliant AR Comp

That's as good or better than many bolt action hunting rifles. Imagine how much better it is going to be when you replace that crappy milspec trigger with a good one! Should help get rid of that flyer! :)

Nice groups Todbartell!!! I did some handloads today. I didn't have much time, I got lucky with the 120, these were from scratch. The 95 VMAX is a load for my 527 American that I tried in the SLR.

120 gr Scenar, 27.8gr 8208 XBR, Rem 7-1/2, Lapua brass. 2576 fps SD 6.2 (for all 10)
