For a long time now I've been obsessively shooting groups with my .22. My goal was to have a sub MOA rifle at 100 yards, and for me that could only be true if I could do it consistently. Earlier this week I shot a target that allows me to say that my .22 is an honest sub MOA rifle at 100 yards! I thought I would share my minor achievement with you guys. Here's the target:

Here's the rifle:

Specs:

Anschutz 1827F (thanks to Nordic Marksman for the old school bolt handle and MEC butt plate)
Nightforce BR 8-32x56 in a BKL Tech mount
Ammo used is Eley Tenex
Shot from a bipod and rear bag

As many of you know it's not hard getting a few nice groups at 100 yards with a .22, but doing it every time is a challenge. The only problem now is that I'm expecting better groups once things warm up a bit more. But I guess another excuse to go shooting is a nice problem to have.

Great job! Getting 5 groups like that in a row is quite an achievement. It must have been dead calm and fairly warm? I bet you will be able to do even better with that rifle.

Off topic...but where did you get that target? I make one similar for myself...but I drew it on the computer, and I color it with orange highlighter!

My next goal is to get all five groups under 3/4 MOA. I honestly think the rifle can do it, whether or not I can is the question.

I buy them from Bartons here in GP. Great targets for shooting groups.

Great shooting... consistency is the key... don't set the bar so high that you get discouraged... just look for gradual improvement and accept the bad days when they come... as they surely will... Also, check the lot number of your ammo and see if you can find another case from that lot.
