Hahah. Nice. I posted a picture of a blue recycling box in the Benelli MR1 thread for hard case suggestions. It didn't go over too well either. still fun though. :p

If they put some quality into the Sub2000 I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I'd even pay the extra just for a top end gun with those features. It's a cool little firearm. But it just feels a bit too cheap at this point. It'll be interesting to see the modifications that come out for these. Hopefully Kel-tec will take note.

Anybody here, seen or tried this option to mount an optic (red dot) on the S2K, without having to install a Red Lion Precisions Turn Barrel?

Here is a Homemade folding scope mount. The mount is made of a spring-loaded door hinge with 2 steel plates...

I really want the sig version. I already have 10 sig mags and going for the more common glock version would mean investing in mags again.

I still think its over priced here in canada. $350 more for a slightly longer barrel? that is BS

:agree:

A Big +1 on the over priced comment.

If you look at the US MSRP on the SUB2000, it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced.

Compare any other gun with a US MSRP and Canadian price tag; usually off only by $200 max. not 50%.

I'm now checking the JR Carbine, it looks like a good deal. :)

Vault can go suck a big one, them guys are clowns ... those scammers will never get another dime from me.

Relax man.. Keep your opinion to your self, unless you have something to back it up with.. You guys missing the main point, if not Vault, we wouldn't see Kel-tec goodness for a while.. Also, if you were in Vaults shoes, you'd probably do the same, business is business ..

+1

The JR Carbine looks like it's better quality than the Sub 2000. I don't care if it can't be folded in half.

+1 there is no excuse for the price it is here....

I gotta agree with those who said this gun is not worth the money. I am not trying to start a fight here but, in this thread alone many are having problems with this rifle. Why do you guys keep ordering them when we all know their pieces? Like others have said, it was designed to be a cheap $300gun and I dont think it is even worth that. Hell, a 10-22 or SKS is like $249 give or take and they last a lifetime and have very few problems even after 10's of thousands of rounds. I know the Sub 2000 is a different class of firearm but, come on $700 for a cheap plastic gun that has a 50-50 chance of having problems from the factory. I was gonna buy one until I read the reviews and am now so glad I didnt. Not trying to tell you guys how to spend your money but, I think this rifle needs some major design changes or a huge price drop before anyone should by one. This rifle would make me reconsider my preordered RFB if the reviews/opinions of it were not so good.

The market charges how much people are willing to pay. In this case, Kel Tec stuff sells out almost immediately (if it isn't all purchased ahead of time on waiting list). Gun sellers simply can't keep them in stock, they sell so fast.

The Sub 2000 isn't "overpriced", because something is "overpriced" when it is too expensive to sell. The only question is "How much am I willing to pay specifically for the feature of a gun that folds"? For some, that sort of functionality is worth more than for other people.

Personally, I am happy that companies like Kel Tec are willing to manufacture a version for the Canadian market, even if overpriced. Better an expensive Kel Tec, than something like the Hi-Point carbine where the manufacturer won't even consider making a unrestricted Canadian version.

O, I know they will charge what people will pay. And, yes a folding rifle is a great idea thats why I wanted one. I also realize that that feature is worth more to some then other but, you are missing what I'm trying to say. I would have payed the $700 for it in a second. But, the rifle is a piece of s**t. I have read countless reports of the front sight failing and coming loose, the barrel being misaligned from the factory causing you not to be able to sight it in, as well as other problems and failures. And, on top of that it is double the price point here in Canada that it was designed for. It makes me mad to know Keltec would pawn such a flawed design on us and makes me wonder about the company and their other products. Both on the market now and not yet released(ie. KSG). Also, why are they letting them sell it to us for so much? The markup on an RFB is nowhere near this. The other thing I cant understand is why so many keep buying this thing even with all the bad reports? Its like a frigging IPHONE 4. lol.

1. Cool gun. What is it?
2. Its a Keltec Sub 2000
1. O, ok. How does it shoot?
2. Not so well. I cant seem to get it on target.
1. Why not?
2. Not enough sight adjustment.
1. O, really?
2. Yeah, they put the barrel on crooked from the factory.
1. O, why dont you send it back?
2. Distributor wont warranty guns that wont sight in and they have no repair center in Canada.
1. O, ok?
2. Well how much was it?
1. $700
2. Woo, isnt that a little pricey? It is mainly plastic isnt it? And, I thought I saw it in the US for only $300.
1. Yeah, but I really wanted it cuz it folds.
2. What? It folds?
1. Yeah, sure does.
2. So let me get this straight. These guns frequently have quality control issues like not being able to sight in, the distributer is being a ####, its a pain to get warranty work done anyways because theres no repair center here, and it is overpriced and poorly built?
1. Thats right.
2. But it folds?
1. Yes
2. Ok, Where do I by one?

To each their own I guess f:P:

YA ... HUH... watchin nutnfancys new vid seeing them for 3 somethin ... ouch man ... i want one ... but um... not for that price... for that price ill shoot my cz 858 and clean it like a mufuka

there was a thread somewhere saying that the sig version would also accept CZ mags. anyone have the link to it for me? or better yet can anyone verify this? I searched but only came up with this thread.
