I have not done this with this particular cartridge, but in my experience with sub-sonic loads in rifles I have only used cast bullets. I have not had a problem in shooting long rifle bullets at 800 fps, but they were cast.
In your case, you are compounding the issue with a long barrel, and the intention of using jacketed bullets.
I would suggest that you need to have a chronograph, and start high, and work down. If you start low and try to work up you might end up practicing getting jacketed bullets out of a barrel.
I have no recommendation for a starting load, as I am not familiar with the cartridge. In a .257 Roberts, about 5 grains of Red Dot and a 100 grain cast bullet gives me around 1200 fps.
