can someone tell me what is refered to as a substantial magazine for the storage of propellent and primers.a lockable metal box would seem to me to be more of a danger than some type of box that would not permitt pressure build up.thanks.
When I was looking into this, I don't recall reading such wording. My propellants and primers are stored in wood boxes, 1" think with non-ferrous fittings.
I think the idea is to avoid building a grenade, ie metal box full of powder, or the use of ferrous material that might somehow spark, causing ignition.
I built a wooden storage crate out of leftover 1x4 from the backyard shed project, glued and screwed with brass screws. It sort of looks like the ending shot of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Substantial magazine means non-metal, basically a wood box with brass fittings. Don't forget the limits you"re allowed in your residence as well. Anything over that has to be stored away from the house. - dan
