Asking for a friend who just found out that SR-4756 is no longer made. Is there a decent substitute for reloading low pressure shot shell loads?
I've never loaded a shot shell in my life, and haven't a clue if there might be.

The following all have burn rates very close to SR-4756:
Winchester WSF
VihtaVuori N340
Hodgdon Hi-Skor 800-X
Ramshot True Blue
Accurate Arms No. 5

So it can be assumed that any of these might be appropriate but not necessarily using the same charge weight.

For a start, I would do some checking of the load data provided by Hodgdon here: http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/shotgun

Tite Group & Promo are 2 that you can use.

These may well be usable, but they have a much faster burn rate than SR4756. SR4756 is nice because it burns clean at low pressures, and with he slower burn rate is a gentle powder. I've found it to be a perfect powder in my antique pistols, rather than black powder. Luckily I ended up buying a 4lb jug at an auction sale.
