Where dem buffalo roam.
Slicer55 and I joined forces with some mutual friends in an undisclosed location. I'm sure that the third member will chime in. The fourth and final member is a phantom entity with mystal powers. Its name is only spoken in fearful whispers, and no clear photographs of the mountain spirit exist. Occasionally you can see a shadow or a movement out of the corner of your eye, then huge weights are moved and horns, antlers and hides appear. Rather spooky, really.

I'll add some pictures as I get time.

Unfortunately those who would attempt to post a picture involveing the "Phantom" are never seen again.b:
I do have clearance for pics of the lower left bll, from an equally awesome but much less terrifying entity.

That picture was taken at the float-plane base. Getting to that point was a backpack, Zodiac and Beaver-rich endevour.

That last fellow sure looks pissed off for some reason...did he just realize that the fun part was over and now you guys would have to lug that huge f*ckin thing out of there? Either way, cheer up guys! You've got some nice moose. :)

Regardless, that looks like a hell of a hunt. Congratulations.

It just occcured to me that a harvest like that might take a few float plan loads to carry out. How's you guys do it? Deboned? Quartered? In the fusilage or tied to the pontoons?

A little over 2 loads in a Beaver plus everything that could be crammed into a Pacer on floats. Everything was boned out, nothing was tied outside the plane. The antlers were nested 1 inside the other like stacking stools, that way they don't take up much more room than a single set. We did our level best to eat the goats in camp, and came awful close to doing it.

I was thinking the same thing!! Man try smiling for the picture, most people would love to be on a trip as successful as that. Must be one miserable guy to hunt with if that's how happy he is after taking such a nice animal!,
 
Just out of curiosity Dogleg, how many freezers do you have? You must have one absolute f*ckload of moose meat to keep cold. :cheers:
 
Just 2, but they are good sized. Normally we don't shoot more than 1 moose per year, but my wife drew a tag after I had organized an out of province hunt. Ordinarily international hunting doesn't involve or allow meat importing, so that isn't an issue.
