sucks 9mm isn't a big game caliber...

If someone was defending themselves or starving i dont have a.problem.

Going out and intentionally doing this, when you own other firearms, to make some sort of point? Separate those two issues, give your head a shake while looking in the mirror.

This from someone who lives were there are no predators and herds of tiny deer. If anywhere in this country could use 9mm for hunting its here. Never going to happen.

Exactly this. Eventually I think BC will put in a minimum energy for big game cartridges.

Why would anyone want to use such a marginal chambering for big game? Use the 9mm carbine for grouse or rabbits.

Edit: watched the deer video up there ^: I think that deer suffered needlessly. One good round would have done the job.

Because I had a bear tag and a .223 in my hands. I’ve also used it on deer. imho if bullet, range and shot placement are considered it works just fine.
I’m also where it’s legal to do so.

So you were out with a .223 during bear season, with a bear tag in your pocket, and a big game appropriate bullet loaded, without the intention of taking a bear? Perhaps it was a 150 bear and you put meat in your freezer... what would you have done if it had been a 400 pound boar?

If I am going to eat the animal I want to drop it right there....again if its about pest control for bears I would still prefer the animal didn't suffer and a larger calibre in my thinking would therefore be more humane. Not to say that 9mm wouldn't work just that the precision required makes it a less preferred option. I'd hate to think I hit some poor animal that will run and slowly die from a less effective round.

I think you can shoot an animal with just about any caliber if you make the right shot placement. Here in Alberta .23 is the minimum legal hunting caliber.

No. I was looking for bear, I was being a smart ass with my answer. weight of the animal wasn't much of a consideration truthfully. I’ve always found that to be a hard guess while they’re on the hoof.
I killed a bull elk with a couple sticks and some string also. Now I wouldn’t hunt elk with a .223 but there’s a lot less energy with an arrow.

My Grandfather killed a Grizzly with a P38. It wouldn't be my first pick but I'd use the 9x19 on meat deer; does or small bucks.

But arrows don't kill by energy, but you probably already know that.

You are correct.
You can’t tell me you’d rather have a recurve than a .223 in just about any situation where you needed something dead. Maybe you can?
I don’t consider myself an expert. I’m just a guy in northern bc that hunts.

Not even close... a .30/06 with 180 grain bullets is a better comparison to archery gear (within appropriate range limits).

My singular reference to archery, I meant to say close close engagement distances. Much like when one uses archery gear. Sorry friend.

And I should add, myself I am really not favorable a nine millie for any ungulate hunting.
