Gas plugs shooting loose is a common thing with this platform. 90 to 120 inch pounds is that target for gas plug tightness.
As the plug shoots loose and begins to rotate, it increases gas volume in the cylinder. This increase WILL show up down range with inconsistant groups. The rifle will behave this way until a point where the plug has backed out enough to cause cycling issues. Ie: poor ejection, failure to feed, short stroke ect.
Loose gas plugs have sent many a guy back to the bench, scratchin their head wondering WTF? Good practice to check it every few hundred rounds with the wrench end of the issued combo tool
