suggest me a 308 rifle

I have used the scout mounted scope on an older top eject Win 94 because it was my only viable option other than side mounting a scope which just looks wrong. Otherwise, a scout mounted scope = narrow field of view + higher mounted scope due to the rear objective size = bleh. Not for me.

I carry my scoped and iron sighted Winchester 30-30 as a backup rifle along with my Savage 10M.308 win as my main rifle.
When I get adventurous, I'll bring along my Hawken .50 percussion just for fun.

one more vote for the BLR, cuz I'm a lever fan. And I do like the idea that was mentioned a ways back there, of a previously mounted and sited in scope in rings as a back up. old eyes here, irons ain't much good for me!

one of the best gun for all game here in ontario is a browning blr 308 lever action short action .or the 30-06 long action but the 30-06 is more heavy and longer barrel .
they are really fast to shoot with because when you push the lever down to load the next shot the triger stay with the lever .so you have the triger on your finger all the time ..
but you are talking at over 1000.00 gun here .
i own one and it is really fast for a lever gun .

Tikka T3 Battue Lite, has excellent high visibility sites
-here's a quick 6 shot site in this week with new glass & Federal premium 168.

well shooting at a target and shooting at a moose is a all treferente story .
target don't move .
but when you see a moose and you are going to shoot it well i will tell one thing your heart will start pumping like you ever saw pumping before then the sheake will come in also we are talking at the biggess game in north america here it not a bird .
sorry about my spelling guy

***No offense taken-I agree with you my friend. I've danced with a few moose. The target I posted shows that the gun will do its part. Now its up to me as the shooter to do my part with the swamp donkey. :D ***
