Hi,

Any recommendations on projectiles for moose?

Getting back into hunting next year, got myself a Zastava in 375 H&H. got some RL15, 150 new RP brass and primers. Hunting Partner says longest shot is 50 yards, brown bears a big possibility .

250gr TTSX. I have dropped 1 moose and 3 black bears (one big boar). I love the way it has anchored EVERY animal I have shot.
I also wouldnt hesitate to suggest the accubond bullet. I use it in about a dozen other calibers and it is my favorite bullet. It seems to hold together great and I find it to be accurate in EVERY gun I have tried it in. The .375 is the only caliber I havent tried accubonds in........but only because I got 7 boxes of TTSX bullets with my .375 Ruger.

Nice rifle, I like the Mauser 98 design. It's a very good rifle for the price. I have a 375 fullstock Zastava converted to 416 RM.

I have a 375 Sako 85 Kodiak and believe premium bullets are worth the extra cost. I have 300gr Nosler Accubond bullets loaded for Moose hunting. This bullet is a core-bond design and held together well on the Bull Moose I downed this past season.

It's tempting to say use whatever bullet you want, but that might not be that helpful. Instead I'll take a different approach and recommend the 270 grain A-Frame. Then just use that ON whatever you want.

Full stock 375 Zastava must be pretty rare, would love to have own that instead of a standard one.

I have only shot one moose with my .375, and a couple elk and one bear. I have done a lot of research on the cartridge. I like the Nosler 260 partition or Accubond for my local hunting. Lots of range and expansion with good penetration. I have used the partition on the 2 elk and the bear. I used a Federal 300 gr RN on the moose, at 300 yd and had perfect performance. i don't think there is a bad choice in expanding bullets between 250 and 300 grains in the .375 H&H. And Dogleg knows what he's suggesting. There is nothing in North America that I wouldn't hunt with a 270 gr A frame.

Have shot a few moose with the 300 grain Sierra and was very pleased with it. Last moose was with the 250 grain Sierra and again I was very pleased with how it worked. I prefer the 250 when deer are on the menu as the 300 is a bit harder bullet, and the 250 opens up a bit more resulting in less travel after the shot. On the few elk and one moose I've shot with the 250 and how it performed I am sticking with it, and would only go back to the 300 if I was hunting brown bear. Both bullets shoot fantastic with the 250 grouping a bit better in my rifle.

I have taken dozens of head of game with my 375 and 270 TSX. My rifle happens to love this bullet and will shoot sub MOA groups when I'm doing my part. I have experienced excellent performance on animals from duiker to hippos with this combination. The 270 shoots a bit flatter than the 300s and I have made shots out to 300 mtrs with it. Shoots as flat as 165 gn 30-06 load.
