Suggested 9mm ammo for beginner?

Cheap is good but no one mentioned bullet weight yet. 115 gr bullets tend to have the most snap and 147 grain is more controllable especially out of a heavier gun

the Manufactures that I have, Glock, CZ, Beretta, Ruger, SIG, most all do not recommend steel case. If you ask anyone IPSC shoot he would not recommend steel. I you only shoot 100 to 200 rounds a years it's not big deal, but when your shooting 1000 to 5000 in a year it does.

Um yeah, admittedly the vast majority of the 42,000+ rounds I've put through my M&P have been brass cased, but probably 4 thousand have been steel cased - no issues. IPSC ammo is typically geared for that particular sport's requirements.

Canada Ammo 9mm Blaser $299/1000 works out to 30 cents a round, cheaper then LCW which is $175/500
Reliable gun, Italian sporting goods and International shooting supplies all had recent sales where 9mm were at $200-$220 per 1000rnd case of brass and/or aluminum.

would be nice if some of the other retailers would price match

Yep, buy it cheap and stack it deep. Any bullet weight will do for targets with the 9mm. I prefer the heavier slugs in 9mm though as I have found them to shoot well in all my 9mm's. Try a few different weights in your gun.
