Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions and experiences with seating Sierra Match Kings. As my range has been blown in for quite some time now, I've been setting up for another round of testing for my .284 once the snow finally goes. The only experience I have with SMK's is use in my M305 and there, I'm bound by mag length. For now, I'm jamming my 168 VLD's in the .284 (which has worked out well so far) and I have a bunch of 168 SMK's that I've yet to try. I've arbitrarily seated these for a .030" jump. What are your experiences? My rationale for the jump comes from the secant ogive - this suggests a jump is appropriate, correct?
Where should I start? .010? .020? My idea has been to pick one and work through my charge range, then fine tune seating once I've found the happy place with the charge. Just looking for what some of you guys have found to work well with these bullets. Thanks! I should also mention that I have gobs of mag length, so this is not a factor.
