Suggestion for accurate bolt action

If you don't intend to shoot high end ammo like Eley, Lapua, RWS, SK, then Savage, CZ, and other hunting grade rifles will do you fine.

So with the insanity around the price of reloading components my attention is drifting back to rimfire where a shooter can plink away without needing a second mortgage. Can you folks give me a suggestion of a few bolt actions out there capable of decent accuracy out to 100 yards or maybe even a wee bit further.

I would like something to plink away off the bench and see just how small a target I can hit consistently.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If you want an entry level price and finish but with remarkable accuracy, go with a Savage MkII something. Can't go wrong and will get you hooked into .22 shooting. Mine was a MK2F.
For similar accuracy, at mid level price, go with a used CZ452 of any flavour, from the EE. Mine are the Style, Varmint and Scout. Almost totally stock Style and Varmint, save for some trigger tweaking by Shawn at Reliable Gun when I bought them in 2002. If you wanna spend more, well the sky's the limit. But I stopped with a couple of Anschutz 1416s.

Regarding the Savage Mk2 and Cz452 comparo, I have both so can honestly attest to both of their accuracy. On a good calm morning, mine have done MOA 5-shot groups at 100 meters with Winchester Dynapoints back in 2009-10, bags front and back. Not all the time but I'd say 6 out of ten groups. This is with all perfect conditions, I could even see the bullets flying towards the 10. Some will say this is BS, but its true.

I personally favor the CZ 452 LUX over my CIL/Anschutz 310. Top of the line for me is my 1710 DKL. The old version Browning T Bolt is also an overlooked shooter. Action is so slick, have take many gophers with that one.

I jumped down the rimfire "rabbit hole" a long time ago. There are some remarkably accurate rimfires
out there. Many good suggestions have been made already. CZ 452, 453, 455, 457 rifles are good
shooters at a not outrageous price. A used Remington 541 S or T are great, but prices have escalated
lately. Tikka and Sako make quality rimfires. Anschutz needs no introduction.

Serious benchrest shooters will have Anschutz, Walther, Feinwerkbau, Remington 40X, Vudoo, Winchester
52's, or a couple of others, known for their accuracy. I have a Suhl 150 that is in the ¼" at 50 yards category.
But you are generally talking serious coin to acquire one in this group.

Ammunition is another consideration. Cheap 22 rimfire ammo will never win any matches, but can be fun
to plink cans and shoot a few grouse with. High quality rimfire ammo is spendy, but worth it to serious
competitors. It's all in what YOU want. :) Dave.

Dave hit the nail on the head, nothing more to be said. Decide what you want to do and how much $$ you want to spend and have at it.

Great info folks. I won't be entering any competitions but I do like seeing just how accurate I can get. No just have to figure out if I need to sell my right or left kidney first. No point selling the liver as that is too pickled by now lol..

Either a CZ rimfire rifle or a Tikka rimfire rifle. They are mid range in price and shoot well. If money is an issue one can look at Savage rimfire rifles, which are Made in Lakefield, Ontario.

If you are open to other rimfires, the .17 hmr is a real tack driver and with the price of ammo isn’t too much more than match .22
