Suggestion for high capacity .22 semi-automatic guns

Just so you know, I have this.....

http://www.myus.com/

They forward packages to canada very nicely, worth looking into if you are working on a car, or just shopping around for great online "lower 48 shipping only" deals.

From their site:

Where can I find information about which types of merchandise are not allowed into my country?
The following list is a non-exclusive sampling of items that are either restricted, cannot be shipped or, depending on your destination country, may either require an import license, additional documentation and/or cause problems and delays during the customs review of your shipment:

"snip"

4. Firearms, weaponry and their parts: military, police and tactical equipment of any kind, including guns, gun replicas, gun accessories, gun components (magazines, clips and rail systems), ammunition, knives, swords, compound bows, crossbows, discharge weapons such as shock batons or stun guns, tooling for guns or gun parts, optical scopes, laser sights, night sights, night visions goggles, handcuffs and other restraints, surveillance equipment.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they were so awesome with everything else i bought. Damn.

Thanks for the heads up, appreciate it.
Cheers,

the op's description of what he wants fits the profile of the gun everyone is 'scared' of and wants to ban, bringing attention to it in the way the OP was framed, was less than brilliant. rah rah! everyone has a right to be bold, its just not always wise to do so.

I truly hope you don't get any responses. this is exactly the type of thread that shouldn't be started.

I really don't see how his post endangers our rights or attracts attention in any negative way.

If you are scared to declare your likes, then enjoy, but don't step on a new guy because you are paranoid.

You are out of line.

Wow... what a thread....

guy asks for ideas or suggestions on cool .22s
turns into a political debate
maybe a mod should move this thread to Firearms Politics Forums...

I'd totally get the Chicago Typewriter though

What i thinks is that the Canadian government is prohibiting .22s that are, for example, AK variants because they don't want the police to respond to situations that are entirely not what they think.

...

Just something to keep in mind; The Canadian government aren't the ones banning anything right now. It is the RCMP that solely controls the status of these guns. No one else. It has always been very clear that the higher level administration of the RCMP is opposed to the private ownership of firearms so they will use every loophole and stretch out every technicality to try make anything that they can prohibited.

Well, I'm glad to see that my thread is stirring so much debate :p

Its comical that the topic of grown men's desires for plinkers is such a sensitive topic :D. I'm happy to hear people's opinions and discussions about all the affiliated topics as well!!

I'd like to address that I am aware of the RCMP's undertaking in the regulation of guns, I simply generalize all the bureaucracy involved in the uncertain process of gun status declaration as "the Canadian government".

deadman,

I apologize for asking, where exactly on fabsports can you find the 1920s tommy gun stock w/ vertical front grip

You say that you used this kit, is that correct?

http://www.fabsports.ca/ruger-1022-m1a1-thompson-p-426.html?language=URL_LANGUAGE

You also swapped for a different barrel? Apart from your drum magazine, are there any other modifications that you have done?

Cheers,

Yeah, let's get back on topic (poor guy just started out asking about a rimfire).

Fabsports: go to "stocks", click on the Thompson thumbnail. That's it, I did it last night to see if he was still offering them. I'm not 100% positive, but I think they build the kits in relatively small batches, so if its what you want, make sure to get on the list if they are out. It truly is an amazing kit, and the best part is that it was developed by a guy right here on gunnutz. As for the barrels, I haven't really navigated Fabsports' site since it changed, snoop around and you'll find out.

Mods: I didn't like the front sight, so I dovetailed the compensator and put in a blade, still have to shape it so the profile looks correct. I also added a sling, and extended the bolt handle so I wouldn't skin my poor, sensitive knuckles on the receiver.

There is only one other mod I would love to do, but I live on the wrong side of the border, in the wrong time :)

:).....:p, I got your drift.

Thank you very much for all your help, information and insight. I'll be looking forward to getting a similar setup as you!

Cheers,
Victor
