Already own two Russian sks (one bell refurbished and one unissued) if I have to make a choice on getting another unissued SKS or a refurbished SVT40 what will you pick?

are you more in love with Russian stuff, or SKS's? If you are into the Russian stuff, you should get an SVT and a Mosin Nagant or 3. If you're more of an SKS guy, try and complete the set. You'll need Chinese, Yugo, and a host of other SKS's that are out there, although the availability of some of the rarer SKS's in Canada is questionable. Sticking with SKS's has the advantage of caliber commonality.

However, the only acceptable gunnutz answer is "buy them all!" :)

If your planning on staying Red Rifle Milsurp you should get:

All the Tula Factory years 1949 to 1955/56 (that's eight rifles). GFL finding a 1949. I'll give my other nut for one. Then have 1 or 2 extra to beat on. Then go over to IZH.

SVT40. (7.62X54R)

Mosin Nangat M38 and M44. (7.62X54R)

Then to keep in the tradition of 7.62X39:

Egyptian Rashid (the cousin to the SKS)

VZ 52/57.

Then when you have all of those, you jump into the 20th century to:

CZ-858

You are now officially a Red Rifle Commie Gun Nut (an extension of a core Gun Nut)

AHHH that's better I need to go smoke now.
