None of the above. In order to cover the spectrum of animals you describe you need the best. You need a rifle and cartridge that not only has no pressure issues due to its nifty shoulder design, nine (count them nine!) locking lugs to handle all of that non pressure, lightning speed in every caliber, a belt on any cartridge for every situation, and incredibly heavy good looks. Lucky for you sir, both the cartridge and rifle carry the same parent name: Weatherby. Oh, and did I mention that every animal in Africa has seen the wrath of its nearly magical hydrostatic shock (disclaimer: some animals did not succumb to the wrath, but in fact ran away horrifically wounded and required being chased until recovery or loss)?
Yes sir, you too can have a rifle that looks like this:
Or you can get a reasonably priced 30-06 like the rest of us serfs and have a heck of a lot of fun reloading for it and slaying all of the game you mentioned. If you reload I would get a 8x57 for the sake of being different, but still having identical performance to the 30-06. The 195gr Hornady is a nice bullet.
