Recently I got a Savage 111 FCNS .22-250. Accu-trigger, Accu-stock.
I have two scopes available in my hand. One is Banner 6-18X50 Multi-X with AO. Cheap scope but higher setup.
The other one is Vortex Diamond back 4-12X40 BDC. No AO. Better scope but lower setup.
Which one works better for coyote hunting?

Any suggestion / experience is welcomed!

I use a 1.75-5 and a 4-16 more than my 6-24s however I'm in Wrongtario. You may be better served by more magnification, depends on your way of doing this, ie....calling v hunting over bait, more open fields than woods, etc.

I have no experience at all, but if I can choose, I tend to hunt on a open fields using game call.

Use the Vortex... 12X is enough for any hunting you will do... you are more likely to use the 4X low end than need more than 12X on the high end, and the glass and construction is better on the Vortex. Personally think that a 4-16X is ideal for coyote hunting... low enough for close in and high enough to shoot as far as you are comfortable.

I'd take hoytcanon's advice on that. I think you will wish you could get down to 4x more often than you will wish you had more than 12x.

You know what they say...buy once cry once. And a good quality scope will retain more value should you decide to sell it later on. I'd be more tempted to look for a 4-12x Leupold VX2.
