Suggestions for a "DMR"-type optic

For the slightly overpriced range, there's the old Leupold Mark 4:

3.5-10x40mm TMR reticle in FFP, 30mm tube. I got this one brand new for less than half the price they normal go for, but sometimes deals pop up. Most Mark 4s that I've seen are SFP though.

Super fine reticle, crystal clear glass, tracks perfectly, and looks great for a Mk12, Mk14, or M24 clone build.

There's also the less costly option of the Leupold VX-R Patrol for around $700ish:

3-9x40mm, TMR reticle, SFP, 30mm tube.

The only thing is with the Patrol, you get a really fat version of the TMR reticle compared to the one in the Mark 4. Maybe that's attributed to the reticle sitting in the second focal plane that they needed to make it more visible? Just a guess? Anyway, decent glass as expected with Leupold and the controls are a bit mushy compared to the Mark 4. This one comes with an illuminated fire dot.

If you want to get super budget, there's the Primary Arms 4-14x44mm, ACSS reticle, FFP, 30mm tube.

It's probably on par with Falcon and Argos in terms of price, quality and performance. The glass is surprisingly decent considering the price point and where it's made (China), the reticle is usable (I've had it out to 480m so far), but the adjustments are garbage and will not track. That being said, I never felt the need to made elevation adjustments because it had a bullet drop built into the reticle which worked just fine for the 75gr steel match.

Overall, not a bad price for a first focal plane scope.....ugly as fuk, but not too bad for the price.

Well, to update anyone who is interested, I went completely off track... I sold the IUR rifle to fund a Stag 10 instead as my DMRish rifle, and decided to increase my budget to buy an optic for it. Compared Leupold, Nikon, Nightforce, Burris, Sightron, Primary Arms, Vortex, and a bunch of others, and decided to go with an Elcan Specter TR. I don't have it yet, but hopefully it'll prove to be a good 'fit'. There are a LOT of good options, but I've had good luck with Elcans. The FOV is narrow on this one, and it weighs a ton, but I like the design.
