suggestions for a poor boy varmint scope?

That was my original justification for opting for the used Tasco pos. Going for a cheap item, I guess one should at least buy new and get some kind of warranty, and this was the first (possibly only) purchase through the CGN EE. I'm just not convinced it's worth buying anything used that cannot be fully demonstrated before completing the transaction.

Tasco scopes are repaired by Bushnell I think . They have a repair depot in Toronto . If your close see what they will charge you to fix the issue if they don't cover it under warranty. Can't hurt to call and ask. Rite now you have a paper weight.

Nikon has some nice offerings for this application...

I use the M-223 on my AR, and I have to say it's a fantastic optic. It's held up well to repeated adjustments and use for service conditions. I'd recommend looking at their lineup.
