Another can or worms is the light bullet - high velocity crew vs the heavy bullet - moderate velocity crowd. Your barrel twist is a limiting factor here, but excellent results have been observed from both camps.
When you are evaluating ammunition, don't limit your testing to 100 yards. If you want long range ammo, it must be shot at long range, and the challenge here is shooting various loads, factory or handloads, under the same range conditions. By definition, shooting groups at long range takes time, and conditions of wind, mirage, and light often change dramatically in the space of just a few minutes, so the results on paper might be illusionary. Often most stable atmospheric conditions occur in the early morning.
