suggestions for guns for small woman

sorry for the silence everyone... health issues had me away from the computer for a few days.

That being said, there are many more great suggestions for me to consider, and some fun and games were had along the way. My next step will be getting a good feel on some of the rifles and calibers suggested here, to make my own decision (my husband, 22 precision, has also suggested the Micro Midas for me, and apparently I am worth it lol)

It really has been great getting all the advice and ideas on here :)

yeah you guys are right about just cutting a stock making it shorter might not make it fit better
that being said I have no issues reshaping the stock adding a riser and so on

I have a win 3030 that has a nice short lop and that fits pretty good
I was also considering single shots like hr and rossi im a fan of them myself and they would be good hunting rifles

Go shoulder a Ruger American youth in 7-08.
See how it fits.
The Ruger American compact is not available in a left hand action, only right hand, same as the Tikka compact. The only compact bolt action rifles available in a left hand bolt action are I believe the Browning Midas X- bolts

I suspect you'll find a micro midas or micro hunter are a good fit. My wife has the micro hunter in 7-08. With any of the youth model rifle's the weight is closer to the shoulder than in regular sized rifles making it much easier for the youth or lady to keep things steady.
Savage? also makes a lady hunter which wife said felt pretty nice when she shouldered it.

(remington or mossberg make real nice youth model 20ga pump shotguns; not sure about left hand models)

This is only my 9th post because i rather not deal with people who attack others on a simple debate.

But you only have a tiny Internet-##### which makes you a target for ball-busting.

But regardless of post count, she doesn't need anything so skookum that she needs a brake. Actually, none of us really do.

Has anyone noticed the second way the thread title could be taken :p

Sorry,it's been killing my twisted ass

ladyshooter, Once you have decided on your rifle/caliber combination, let us know how its working out for you. Good luck.

I'd vote 6.5x55, 7mm-08 or .308.

Handloads for all would be best, with reduced loads at first and then building up as needed.

Fit and comfort of the rifle is critical, and a good recoil pad as well.

And learning how to hande recoil is critical too. I've seen 250 lb bodybuilder types get a hammered by a 300 win mag because they refused to allow their body rock a little with the recoil.

Having a small frame, or a larger frame that's had some injuries, is not a show-stopper in regards to shooting; it just needs to be done in a planned, intelligent manner.

I shoot a 6.5x55 and have over 30 kills of rabbit, deer, moose, elk and black bear with it. it might be hard to find but if you can get a hold of one you will never look back. people talk smack about it but any who owns one will attest to its stopping power. as to recoil I have let 10yr olds pull the trigger more than once.

have you considered a savage lady hunter? my gf shouldered a savage lady hunter and the browning midas, she liked the fit of the savage a lot more

I bought my bride (5'/105lbs) a Ruger 1A in 7x57. Light, much shorter than a bolt with same length barrel and easy on the shoulder.

Great load for NA big game.
