Suggestions for long range target shooting sights

Any idea what height of the ring I should pick for kahles k525i/k624i?
The online tool suggests I pick something high at least 1.375inch for the 34/35mm diameter.

It all depends what rifle you will be putting the scope on. Call Richard Near and he will tell you what the exact mount you need. I think I use a low size and it fits my rifle perfectly, as I have an only 3-4 mm gap between a barrel and a scope. But! My setup will not work on chassis where the barrel sits inside the forend, like Cadex for example or some MDT, with one single Picatinny rail. These chassis require higher rings/mount.

Richard Near is from Alberta. Mik123 gave you the link. Here is another one with more details. His mounts are being used by Canadian military snipers and are of the excellent quality. Because T3X A1 has a full Picatinny rail integrated into forend, I believe, you need around 34-35mm of the rings height (for example, Alphamount model will be 34MM x1.400=XHD34MM). If you plan to use scope covers, take that into consideration as well. Now, you can choose the rings/mount and just make sure they have a proper height.

Swarovski-Kahles reps at a shooting demo in West Virginia advised that the new Kahles K525 5-25X56 has superior optics to the K624 6-24X56 models. The K624s are upper level, but the company is aggressively going after the top-end market and have the resources to do so.

Richard makes very nice mounts. They are elegant looking and very light.

If you want more of a utilitarian look I would suggest Spuhr mounts.

Both are top quality and you can get unimounts or separate rings from each.

Thank you.

I found a couple of posts on sniperhide mentioned about the ring height for their scope on Tikka T3X Tac A1 rifle is quite high.

Kahles K624i/K525i scope, which has 56mm objective lens diameter, adding the coating, 62-64mm probably the outer size for the objective lens side of the scope, that requires at least 32mm radius from center of the ring to the Tikka rifle's picatinny rail. So 35mm or more may be safer with scope covers.

Appreantly, 1.3875inch seems the lowest if no scope cap, otherwise anything between 1.4-1.5inch for Kahles would work for sure with the scope covers.

Would this Badger works for K624i/K525i on Tikka T3X Tac A1?

Yeah, it looks like the K525i is Kahles new high end scope after the K624i.

Thank you.

I had a look the Spuhr mounts from Sweden, quite pricey, but great quality and the ability for additional accessories.

I might choose between Badger and Near.

Not sure if rings is good enough, or it's more personal preference for uni mounts over rings?
