suggestions for new 10/22 build?????

Looking to build a 10/22 from the ground up, something all black with a bi pod and a nice scope.

Does anyone have any experience with supporting dealers and 10/22 accessories???

or any other sites to try...also would like to hear suggestions for specific parts!

I would consider buying a complete Dar 22 from Dlask, and going from there.

You could sell anything you don't want, and come out ahead.

I went from the ground up, and kinda regretted it.

Seems the Complete Dar 22 is an excellent value if your thinking of using a Dar 22 receiver anyways.

I now have a complete custom built on a standard Ruger receiver, and could have had the Dar 22 receiver for the same money had I started with the complete Dar 22.

My 0.02 cents.
 
What are you looking to use it for? Precision? Tactical? Just blasting boxes of bulk .22s? BR competition? The DAR-22 is cheaper than buying a base 10/22 and adding an aftermarket barrel stock and trigger plus you get the awesome DAR-22 reciever and all the work is done for you. That would be your best bet for precision. For tacticool there are plenty of dressup kits. Hical is great to deal with, Dave takes good care of his customers and offers alot of products for tacticool goodness.
DAR-22 is $600
10/22 will run you about $250 for a new base model, $300+ for used one on EE.
Bull barrel will run about $200
A cheap hogue stock is $100
Basic drop-in hammer is about $50
Theres $600 for a stock, crusty, rough Ruger action with a plain weaver base.
Go Dlask, you get the DAR-22 reciever with properly fitted OE Ruger parts as far as I know, Dlask barrel and a hogue stock. They also have options like trigger jobs and such. You could also go with any of the nice other stocks on the market like Boyds and such.
