Hey guys, so I've saved up a lot of my hard earned cash even with the holidays just finishing now, and I'm wanting to get one of the more exotic black rifles that are available in Canada. I am not really looking for an AR15 and I already own an ACR and an FS2000 so I was looking at the Tavor, Kriss, SAN, Hk, etc. My budget is more or less $5000 and I've been looking around a bit but it's hard to do any shopping with everybody sold out of almost everything. I really want to find a NIB PS90 but it seems they're far and few between which sucks because I have a 57 so ammo is already covered for it.

Which leads me to my question. Which rifles would you guys recommend taking a really good look at? I am open to any suggestions, opinions, and reviews. If nothing can be had in the mean-time, would you guys recommend sticking it out until stock arrives or do what I always seem to do and impulse buy? ;) Thanks guys.

If you have an idea of what you want, hold off. If you still feel like you should buy something, buy a Norc AR. Don't have one myself, but I hear that for the money, its a steal.

Thanks but I have owned a Norc 10.5 in the past and it was nothing but garbage, I had all sorts of problems that couldn't be remedied so I ended up trading it off.

You could potentially buy a used Tavor and a used Swiss Arms for 5k...?

Some people prefer a broken-in gun - just sayin'.

The Tavor I have shot many times and it is a great rifle except perhaps the trigger but that is ymmv.
It has fantastic pointability if that matters and the accuracy = 1.5 moa on average.
From what I understand the Swiss gun is a tack driver, sub moa.

Tavor and SAN are on my radar. I've never held a SAN but I have borrowed a Tavor for close to a month. The Tavor was used and had a few problems but it may have just been a lemon or never taken well care of. As for the SAN, are there any dealers with any in stock? Also, would you guys reccommend the NR model or one of the restricted models? I live 5 minutes away from a range so there really isn't an issue, but I don't mind popping gophers every summer. Also, twist rate 1/7 or 1/10? Most of my ammunition is 55-62gr. Thanks guys!

X2 on the twist rate :)

If you don't mind shooting at the range, the 14.3" carbine is the most balanced and nicest Swiss Arms rifle IMO, don't know about dealers in stock. Try wolverine for the 14.3" carbine

If you shoot 55gr and up consider a 1in7, if all you ever do is plink away with bulk 55gr, then get a 1in10

Wolverine has some Swiss arms I saw them when I was there tuesday, I don't think they had the carbines though. It's not on their site so call them or take a drive down to Virden.

Found some SAN but no luck on Tavors. Seems like everyone is out, surely there must be one or two places with a Tavor in this country no? Any leads people?

I am seriously tempted but SAN are big rifles, and I am only 5"6. I do a lot of run n' gun with my buddy and I'm concerned about how well I will be able to manipulate the rifle. I am going to try and shoot one before I make my purchase.

I have done a lot of run'n gun with my Swiss rifles. If you practice, I don't think you'll have a hard time. I'm 5'8" and it handles great.

get the Kriss. but make sure its the newer ones.
i read on their site they are going to release 9mm and other calibers. i wonder if it will be interchangeable kits.

The next time I get into that kinda money I am going to buy a swiss, so that gets my vote. I had a tavor, don't like the looks of the kriss, HK meh
